31 October 1981 Night El Cajon Mountain, Chile 
Mountain Climbers incident.
Seven veteran mountain climbers camped for night saw bright light rose rapidly, leaving glow reflected off mountain. Changed to sphere, darkened hat shape in middle, then took on triangular shape, solid. An unusual object was sighted, that had unconventional appearance and performance. One shifting-shape object was observed by seven witnesses at a mountain. No sound was heard. Hynek rating: NO: Nocturnal Objects Vallee rating: MA1: A UFO has been observed which travels in a discontinuous trajectory. i.e. vertical drops, maneuvers or loops.
