5 September 1976 Around 2200 Itaperuna, Brazil 
Great light in sky, followed quickly by appearance of strange objects, "hedgehopping" toward them. They lept on their bicycles, pedaled away, hid under a bridge. Photo of luminous circle in sky.
Objects were observed from a car and photographed. More than one ring was observed by three male witnesses, typical age 18, on a road (Charif). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: MA1: A UFO has been observed which travels in a discontinuous trajectory. i.e. vertical drops, maneuvers or loops.
